About Tony Duquette
Internationally acclaimed artist, jeweler and Hollywood set designer, Tony Duquette was a native of Los Angeles, CA. Early in his career, Duquette was discovered by Lady Elsie de Wolfe Mendl, an international arbiter of taste. Through the patronage of Sir Charles and Lady Mendl, Duquette was able to establish himself as one of the leading designers both in the United States and throughout Europe. His work has been shown in many of the world’s great museums from the El Paso Museum of Art to the Louvre in Paris and his pieces have been collected by a remarkable range of people including Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Arden, Liza Minnelli and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, among many others. A long time collaboration between Duquette and designer Hutton Wilkinson has produced stunning and iconic pieces of work; an operation continued to this day by Wilkinson. Unique examples of this coveted jewelry are currently available through limited channels, including DomusAurea.
